I am what I say I am,
Not what I guess I am,
A flow of energy and blood,
I am human. In a world of clashing levels of joy and pain,
Solace is never a mile away,
Solace is here… in a neighbour’s embrace,
We are human. If love overcomes anguish,
And giving brings so much gain,
On what fire do love’s coal burn,
Is love human? What moves us to compassion,
The will to judge or the need to assuage,
Can mankind be really kind?
Are we human?
